On September 28, we began our 8 Commitments series by exploring the first: following Jesus wholeheartedly and personally in community.
On September 28, River Corner Church launched our new sermon series, 8 Commitments. In this first message, Pastor Jeff McLain explores what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and personally. Drawing from Ephesians 4 and other passages, he reminds us that discipleship is never meant to be lived in isolation. Our faith is strengthened in community, as each believer’s personal “yes” to Jesus joins together to form the body of Christ. This foundational commitment becomes the root from which all others grow, shaping us into a church that reflects unity, maturity, and the love of Christ.

We are not driven by flash or size, but by a desire to be faithful right here, right now in the place God has planted us. Since 1760, our church has quietly sought to love God and love our neighbors — gathering around the table, caring for one another, and welcoming others into the presence of Christ. Our hope is not to be impressive, but to be surrendered, formed, and active for Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of daily life.
