In John 15:9-17, Jesus explains his ways and the whys of what he does, but also the ways and why of which he expects us to live by as followers of Jesus. That way and why of life expresses itself through surrendering and sacrificial love.
This morning was a unique morning for us at River Corner Church. As a church, we focused on celebrating friends, our first responders, in our neighborhood and region who are doing well at serving our neighbors and neighborhood. This was an opportunity for us to not to celebrate our first responders, but also share that we see them, hear them, understand them, pray for them and that we are a resource here for them.
Our message was focused on John 15:9-17, looking at a passage in which Jesus unpacks the ways and whys of being a follower of Jesus. This is something that those like our first responders may understand a little more than some others of us. I hope this morning we all take away something that helps us find new impetus for transformation in the ways of what we do and in the why we do what we do.
